I asked one of the employees on my third day. She said they can't give them to me because of copyright reasons (how incredibly stupid that is, does copyright get used as excuse for everything these days?) and said that, sometimes, those promotional cardboards go back to the company that owns them.
 
The latter is just nonsense. These cardboards were specifically made to promote the movie, with german text no less so they are even only relevant for german promotions, not international ones. And the movie is only in cinema one time and even if there should be another My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Movie one day, Hasbro is obviously letting new cardboards getting made.
 
No one has any need for those cardboards anymore once the movie is out of cinema. As I said, a pure excuse.  
They are just going to throw them away and they only say they are not allowed to give them out because they don't wanna share them.
