This is something I’ve had in mind for A LOOOOOONG time, and I thought this bimester’s challenge was a perfect opportunity to bring it to life:
 
What if Flash Sentry was possessed by magic in “Friendship Games” instead of Twilight?
 
Angy and I ARE planning to write a fanfic to expand the whole backstory for this, but it probably won’t come out anytime soon, considering all the stuff each one of us are currently busy with xD
 
I’ll try to describe it as best as I can without writing like a whole chapter:
 
Basically it’s a scenario where Flash has a bigger role during the film “Friendship Games”. He, still thinking Sci-Twi is Princess Twilight, offers her help to track down the magic, both because 1) He’s just nice that way and 2) he’s kind of tired of always standing in the sidelines while others handle the magical shenanigans. He wants to be useful for something and can’t stand when people think little of him. Instead of brushing him off, she actually accepts his help because it would be useful to have someone who actually knew the school to guide her, and who also knew about the magical events that had happened in that school in the past. Obviously he realizes she’s not the Princess from Equestria, but keeps helping her regardless because 1) He’s just nice that way and 2) her passion about this investigation makes him more and more intrigued himself. He helps her to be more social, she allows him to see things from a different perspective, they get to know each other, even if they’re in rival teams, yada, yada. When Sunset yells at Twilight, Flash tries to defend her, but it goes something like this: (Dialogue written by Angy and translated by me)
 
Sunset: “Flash, magic is dangerous and not something to be messed with! You can’t just come along with your guitar, sing a song and pretend that everything will be fixed”
 
Flash: (offended) “There’s more to me than that, Sunset, I can actually be helpful”
 
Sunset: “You’re nobody’s hero!”
 
Flash: (frowns) (tightens fists) “You’re wrong”
 
He walks away upset, Sunset scolds some more, Sci-Twi storms off crying, and later on when the whole “Unleash the magic” scene happens, Flash notices what his friend is about to do before Sunset or Spike do, and remembers what Sunset said about how troublesome magic can be and how it had been used for evil in the past. He ignores his better judgement, he can’t let his friend possibly get hurt by this dangerous magical stack because WHO KNOWS what might happen to her! (I mean, we—we know, but… that’s beside the point). RIGHT when Sci-Twi releases the magic, Flash was faster than the others and snatches it from her hand and receives the magical stroke instead, which… well, causes this.
 
I always love to associate Flash with both fire and lightning. His appearance fits it. All of his magic is fire-related, including his magic aura (which is red), and obviously can create actual fire. BLACK fire. Tee-hee.
 
Does he want to burn down everything/everyone? Well… yes, pretty much (except for Twilight, because… well, I’m the one who created him, so obviously he loves her). He also, much like Midnight Sparkle, wants to get all the magic from Equestria, but not to understand it, but to be “less bland” and “more interesting”. Yeah, Bronies, he heard ya’ll! And he is NOT happy about your hate! So watch your mouths next time unless you want to get LITERALLY burned by this hot beast.
 
Partly inspired by Orin331’s wide collection of Midnights. I’m just surprised no one’s made a male Midnight so far (not counting genderbend Midnight Sparkle fanart).  
Oh and in case you wonder why he has Sombra-like steam coming from his eyes… well, Midnight Sparkle’s horn kinda-sorta resembles Chrysalis’s, so I figured I would make Fire Pit’s eyes kinda-sorta resemble Sombra’s. Why not, right?  
Not to brag but I am REALLY happy with how this came out, both the picture itself and this design. If you guys like this, say the word and you’ll see more Fire Pit in the future UwU (I personally would LOVE to show you his full-body design) (Yes, his wings are made of blades. He’s just THAT edgy) (No pun intended) (Maybe)
