Spitfire: There are so many things I wish I said to you while you were alive, Rainbow Dash. But above all, I wanted to say I’m sorry. I’m sorry I never made you a Wonderbolt sooner. I’m sorry I never got to hang out with you at the Grand Galloping Gala. I’m sorry that I never answered your fan mail. I’m sorry that I was too busy to ever spend time with you. I’m sorry for giving you such a hard time as team captain. I’m sorry…I’m sorry that I never told you that…that I love you…
 
And I’m sorry that I have to say goodbye.

Gilda: I’m sorry, Dash. You were right all along; I was a jerk. I wish I had been willing to admit that while you still lived.  
I doubt that you realized this, but one of the many lives you saved in your last stand was that of my niece. I thank you as she does.  
Goodbye, Rainbow Firefly Dash. You were awesome to the last.

But the problem is that all of these appear to be portraying them in death as they appear now, in the show, not in old age. That’s what bothers me the most.

I said “But that’s just me.” Twice. Sigh.

I like it, a lot, in the tragically beautiful sort of way. But that’s just me.  
Rainbow Dash is my favorite canon pony, but this image doesn’t upset me because of that, it makes me smile because it portrays her death as a natural thing and not being shot or stabbed to death or something.  
But that’s just me.

I could thumb it up because it’s edgy and unique or thumb it down because it’s portraying a character I like being dead.

Ya know, I once gave a lot of thought to how the various species would hold funerals.
 
I could see Pegasi practicing cremation, their ashes being spread into the winds. It being a common superstition that every gentle breeze or sudden gust has whispered words of their ancestors upon them, comforting and guiding their progeny.
 
Or cloudy graveyards, the headstones just giving a name and their cutie mark and perhaps loved ones.

I almost want to color this..
