Ron Weasley’s dad is a brony?

Nice to see the BBC covering the breaking news. Think they said something about the Berlin Wall coming down. Might have been a rumor, though.

Honestly, I don’t believe we were EVER newsworthy. Coming from someone who took up journalism in high school, it comes across as blatant filler if your newspaper or news page includes any article regarding places or people that have nothing truly significant about their impact or recent events, but are there to inform the reader. It’s mainly in place to sell advertisement spots.

That being said, I don’t recall our school paper EVER having such articles, because the only ads we had were not really ads, just information that wasn’t it’s own article. Like, “Hey, this event is happening this week,” or something like that.

News institutions that seem to think bronies are newsworthy are desperate for ad and viewer revenue. They’ve ran out of actual events, or more possible just didn’t hire anyone who cares about global events or activities, so they need something that’s easy to hold an opinion of or spin, such as a new restaurant having good food or not, and something that makes a mountain out of a ant hill.

I have absolutely not a single doubt in my mind that the BBC is going to say something along the lines of bronies being “recent”, “weird”, and “strange”. And really, I shouldn’t care much, but the only reason I do care is that people are paying this news institute money in order to hear something that honestly would have no relevance WITHOUT amplifying implications towards possible outcomes.

Such a thing can be witnessed in real time when that one dude, whom I honestly don’t care enough to remember his name, said that the government is putting things in the water to turn the frogs gay. He has no evidence for this possible outcome, but he’s implying something is happening that we’re not aware of and it’s a conspiracy. This comment shouldn’t have been notable aside for it’s silliness, but it has many people who have less than interesting or notable lives listening intently.

If I ever had to introduce people to my favorite hobbies, I’d try to avoid using words like “sexual” and “lewd”. Once I get them interested in a videogame or cartoon, they can look that stuff up on their own time :O
