Sailor Moon was never actually good. There was this vast retarded gap between the ‘monsters of the week’ and the evil leaders of whatever. They always try to redeem the 100% human looking baddies but don’t think twice about offing the random help. It was written more like a sentai show with copious amounts of pantsu than a real magical girl show. But by using the trappings of magical girl it lost what made sentai actually fun. Usagi and Kamen’s speeches were absolutely painful to hear, and about as hot-blooded as a Red Lobster wetnap. Contrast that to Wedding Peach or MKR where they try to befriend anything that seems capable of rational thought, or Tokyo Mew Mew where their powers are based on healing or converting into harmless forms. Now those are true magical girls one should idolise!

Really? Why care about what Chris-Chan likes? If you like the show, then like the show; don’t let a fandom ruin it for you.

Glad I saw this series long before I heard of Chris-Chan, then. And that I only know of Chris-Chan second-hand because I know how to ignore web personalities I don’t like.

I can see this being a thing.

V this is why I stay clear of fandom recommendations and have a small circle of friends. Fanboy and fangirl enthusiasm mostly ruins a show. Which was why I never got on the Sailor Moon bandwagon and after hearing the craze over Naruto and I got bored with it half the time.

I used to kind of like that series, but reading of Chris-Chan’s fanboyish enthusiasm for it, killed any interest I had left.
