Then they just need to find Rarity and some very strong thread to put her head back on.

If they’re smart they’d realize she couldn’t be a vampire because decapitating a vampire kills them, although they might think she’s a zombie

I meant to imply that Spike was eating Ember without knowing he was eating her. Unless they’d have her head on the table, just staring at everyone during dinner.

Spike would be too accustom to pony culture and probably be terrified at the true dragon culture as Smolder handed him a generous chunk of Ember’s leg.

Sounds like some local families I knew. Two of the kids ditched halfway through the funeral; when their sister followed them to their mother’s house she found them with a truck backed up to the front door and just tossing everything valuable in.
 
Of course Torch may enforce some restraint and dignity at his daughter’s funeral. “BURY MY DAUGHTER FIRST. THEN YOU CAN ARGUE OVER WHO STEALS WHAT FROM HER HOARD!”

I’m surprised dragons have such elaborate funerals. I figured the other dragons would just drag the deceased out of their lair and start plundering their hoard.

Considering they’ll be back in there bodies and disembodied souls(and it’s discord) the biological death part and brain death part probably won’t affect them in terms of consciousness and animation. But would they really want to be stuck as half-rotted revenents

It’s permanent brain damage after approximately 45 seconds - 1 minute of no oxygen being supplied to the brain and literal brain death after what 3 minutes for humans. Granted it’s a different constitution with ponies and dragons, but after 1 hour (never mind days) they’re dead as disco.

Not to mention the fact that the bodies are dead, what happens when they go back in? Do they instantly heal and becom like normal or do they still have rigor Morris, liquafactive necrosis, bloating caused by decompositon, and livor mortis. How fun

I wonder, do they go back because they’re effectively immortal, or is it more of an “out-of-body experience” type thing than a “you literally die” type thing?
