Well, maybe not that I guess… I just know I wouldn’t because I know I’m not worth it, and it’d be tremendously wrong to push for a union between one of the princesses and myself. Unless she really actually wanted me and was willing to accept a massive discrepancy in personal worth between us, which I’m not sure I’d be comfortable with…

I think the two should get happy endings too, but in different ways. One for achieving meaning and feeling important and the other for finally being one with the herd and not just someone respected/feared.

Anyway, I hope Celestia and Luna find lasting happiness some day. With the sort of incredible things they’ve done for complete strangers over the years, there’s no way they haven’t earned a happy ending. They just need to be patient and wait for their just desserts.

I’m pretty sure the Hearths Warming Eve episode said or implied that unicorns can move the sun and moon quite reasonably in groups.
 
The ponies could be okay at the cost of losing unification.
