This doesn’t invalidate the arguments, tho. In fact Foal Papers pretty much said what the problem was. I feel like people just want to point out certain things they think are more affected by it.
 
Also independent of whether you like Equestria Girls or not it pretty much uses the stereotypical high school setting with hints of all the other things and tropes like Barbie mixed in and then made it look like poni. There is zero creativity in the setting itself and they did not make anything new up but used what they knew would be good for toy marketing and went from there.
