I actually remember a fic like that happening; Shining gets informed of the Movie’s events, and is basically brought to Tempest so he can do what he wants.
He starts crying his eyes out, hugging Tempest and saying “Thank you for saving my sister” over and over again, since she did that whole “sacrificing herself” thing near the end. Tempest is dumbfounded, as she was expecting (and allowing) punishment.
I think it’s supposed to be set post-movie, where it’s implied she goes off wandering around as a free mare. She no longer wears Storm King attire, so she’s just by herself, redeemed and travelling.
