Copy this image, send it to some ultra religious organization with the “moral guardian” agenda with no context or anything besides “OH MY GOD”, and the next day you will see some kind of protest be organized because they don’t already know about that thing that Twilight and Cadence established in the show. I absolutely promise you, that out of context and without knowing who these characters are, this looks weird breh
 
Someone who didn’t know better would probably get the impression it was something else already because Cadence kissed another girl horse on the cheek in the previous panel. Of course we know it means nothing - more of a family kiss kind of thing. But it plants a…certain idea in your head if you didn’t know better. At least for the second panel.

True, but even so they both still had and needed servants who would handle some of the rough stuff for them. Usually. Losing your head of state because they decided to macho something out is not a good thing.
 
I admit I knew about Henry VIII jousting, but I never heard he was a wrestler* too. Odd to think of him as the 16th century equivalent of the heavyweight champ.

Francis I of France lost (narrowly) to Henry VIII of England in jousting, and then proceeded to make up for it by forcing Henry to tap very quickly in a wrestling match.
 
…it was kinda embarrassing, considering Henry was considered a world class jouster, and a pretty good wrestler.

I know, although it was a while ago and Cadance does appear A LOT without him and like I said I jsut found that bit in the siege strange.
 
But I’m probably just overthinking things, just a feeling I got is all. Guess it’d just be nice for them to sometimes do things together, although it’d also be nice to see him with Flurry Heart too. Just my head going on sorry for rambling.

I’ve actually for a while been thinking that the comics Cadance seems to be way more into Twilight then Shining, and also really quick to forget about Shining somewhere like in siege of the crystal empire where he gets petrified…but we never actually ever seem him unpetrified or anyone, Cadance or anyone, bother to check up if he’s okay. Maybe the comic writers just aren’t big fans of Shining/Cadence?

Cadance seems pretty happy, to say the least.

Can’t wait to see Thorax and the changedlings in their idw debut :)

Cadance seems to like leaving Shining Armor with Baby sitting duties. On the one hand its pretty standard for female characters to be just treated as attachments for their babies in most media so its a refreshing change, but on the other hand I don’t really like it when its done to them either so having Shining reduced to the ‘hold my baby while I actually have a story’ character is a little sad.
 
Also I do hope at least one payoff we get from it is if we ever do see Shining in the comics again he’ll at least have a close relationship with Flurry as the one who’s around her so much. That’d be a nice touch. If we ever see him again.

We need a Celestia and Cadance episode.

Okay, I’m gonna say it, you guys are way too excited for this.

I do like how they have Cady acting here. That part is very cute.

Those first two panels are adorable as fuck.

If a kid saw this comic without knowing beforehand about the thing Twily and Cadence do then the second panel there looks really suggestive.

Daww, that big hug between Twilight and Cadence was already sweet, but that little kiss Cadence gave Celestia just adds to it. We don’t see enough of the two interacting within the show, and especially not in their capacity of adoptive aunt and niece.
