“Hey!”
“Huh?” Burge turned to see who it was before getting punched in the face. She was horrified as blood started dripping from her nose and her eye began to swell.
“Stay out of Ponyville! We don’t need dragons here!” The bully yelled.
“W-what? Why?” Burge asked, trying not to cry.
“Dragons only eat ponies! We don’t want to be eaten!” Another bully pointed out.
“B-but my dad was friends with ponies…” Burge muttered.
“What are you gonna do? Cry? Go on!” A third bully laughed.
The little dragon then began sobbing quietly, cowering on the ground. Today was turning out to be a horrible day…

Meanwhile, a little draconequus cub was nearby, picking flowers and singing to herself. Today was going surprisingly well; the bullies apparently decided to leave her alone this time. She went on her merry way before she began to hear voices.
Cocking an ear towards the sound, she saw a group of familiar colts kicking a sobbing purple figure. “Take that! We don’t need dragons around here!” they screamed.
The draconequus cringed at their words, remembering a time not too long ago when they were directed at her. And that’s when something clicked within her. She couldn’t just sit back and watch somepony-er, somedragon else get pushed around like that. Somepony had to do something and it might as well be her.
Burge was about to give up when a strange yellow figure stepped over her. “LEAVE HER ALONE!” she screamed at the bullies.
“What are you gonna do about it, freak?” The first bully taunted.
“My dad is the Lord of Chaos and I have the same powers as him! I can kick your flanks into the moon or make it rain chocolate on you!” The draconquus hybrid snapped.
“Try us if you’re so big and powerful like daddy!” The second bully retorted.
The yellow hybrid smirked and snapped her paw, causing the ground to sink under the bullies.
“RUN!” They screamed with each step causing them to sink or trip over each other as they ran away.
“Ha! That’ll teach them.” She grinned in triumph before noticing Burgeon. “Hey, are you alright?”
“I guess…thanks.” Burge nodded while wiping away her tears and the blood from her nose.
“Hey, it’s nothing. I’m always here to help.” The hybrid reassured her. “The name’s Bedlam, by the way.”
“I’m Burge…Burgeon Flare.” The dragon told her new friend.
“Cool name.” Bedlam commented. “And don’t let those bullies bother you, they did that with me all the time. I think I scared them off for good.”
“I’m glad you did.” Burgeon nodded.
“Don’t mention it. Us outcasts have to stick together, you know?” Bedlam said with a smile.
Burgeon nodded as Bedlam helped her up. The two then ran off together to play now that the dragon was feeling much better than she was before her friend showed up. It was the start of a beautiful friendship…and maybe something more…
