I like the idea of dragons eating phoenix and phoenix eggs.

If they were eating ponies, this would be a different show.
If they want meat, I’m betting there’s plenty of other magical beasties just under their weight class they can hunt.

Something tells me it’s ponies. Garble indicated in an earlier season that he wanted to eat ponies, I think. My memory is bad, so that may not have actually happened.
It would stand to reason. If they lived solely on gems they really should have nothing but molars.
I think gems are just a snack for them, otherwise that’s a pretty expensive diet.

They haven’t in the show but I figured those sharp looking teeth would help with eating meat. Like I said before, my guess on them being omnivores was just pure speculation on my end.

So with that in mind, I’d like to think that dragons are omnivores but prefer eating gems and meat (but since Spike was raised by ponies, he prefers plant based foods). That’s just me making a little theory though. I could be completely wrong.

The funny thing is, dragons have never been seen eating organic material. They likely couldn’t even digest a pony.
