Indeed. And what is character of God of War doing is just silly, Greek gods couldn’t be killed. Wounded? Yeah, but they didn’t die. Heck, they had their own doctor who helped them with healing of their immortal bodies.
And remember that Zeus brothers and sisters (Posejdon, Hades, Herald and Hestia) were eaten alive as infants by their father, Kronos!

There’s something called being ageless: It’s essentially your description of immortality. You don’t die of old age, you don’t become old, it’s also eternal youth. One who is ageless can still die, say, from being stabbed, being poisoned, or having a disease. Immortality would be the ageless trait, except also accompanied with invincibility. Gods in the Greek myths are immortal, since they can not be killed.

Actually immortal just means you live forever without dying or decaying. Never being defeated is the meaning of invincible. The two are not the same thing. Achilles wasn’t immortal he was protected thanks to what was done to him as a child. Some humans thought he was immortal but similarly to the story of Baldur there was a catch to his invulnerability that should have been noticed and fixed but wasn’t.

Prophecies are always like that, told in a way that allows various interpretations, being as vague as possible. Greek oracles were like that through whole antique, at times the answers given by them were more mysterious than the question asked. Why wouldn’t it be different here?

Thus the prophecy comes to pass. But keep in mind they did travel to the future much against Whooves warning. Thus such events could possibly be adjusted resulting in a different outcome.

Everything that comes into being can also be unmade. It’s kind of like characters that are above omnipotence or above other characters that are called omnipotent. It really just means someone is really powerful and immortality means they are really hard to kill and thus also don’t die naturally. It can also be interpreted as a kind of title like being a god or being an immortal.

I like what they did here… immortality? People have a lot of misconceptions about it, being immortal doesn’t mean you can be defeated because of X, someone performed a ritual or used a weapon designed/blessed to kill immortals (are they immortal then? If there’s thing that can kill you. Achilles wasn’t immortal, no?). Immortality means you can’t be defeated, killed or you can’t die of old age.
Yet from what I know, and anime is the most guilty of that, people like killing immortals.
