What we have instead is “villian of the special” and a disorganised group of superheroes who don’t always remember that they have powers. Which is… better? Maybe? I’m not really sure.
I also feel like currently EQG is a big wall that team is just throwing things at and looking what sticks. So there’s some hope that something good will come out of it. In my case the hope is slim though.

Honestly tho… with the geodes and random sparks of magic into the EG world.
You would think they will convert EG into a full-blown magical girls show with slice-of-life and monster of the week.
But nope, still shooting rainbow lasers and not properly utilizing their powers like “Super Squad Goals”

If we’re talking full on wishful thinking - I would love them to just start making seasons of EQG and just make it into FIM with humans. With the same amount of purely slice of life episodes and one villian per season. But it’s not gonna happen. I really don’t think that pure slice of life will happen in EQG outside of shorts and that’s a shame.
They still would need to fix their world building, cause it’s falling at the seams at this point.

Well, those movies didn’t really had “world ending scenarios”, they just had villians (which MLP:FIM only has one per season). But guess what? EQG still has villians all over the place even outside of the movies. And the whole superheroes thing that they are going for with geodes is indicating to me that villians are here to stay. So I would rather have them make more movies to properly build up their villians, instead of having more “Movie magic”s.

And she is one right after the first EG installment (that’s saying something, doesn’t it? Compared to Starlight AFTER season 5 and still not a man character :P; still mane six, EG; humane seven) as shown in the opening theme (in the freaking middle), your point? >>1718902p (merged)

Nah, I don’t want EG to end up and continue endlessly like The Land Before Time
14 movies, WTF?!!!
The problem with the movie format, it limits the storytelling to world-ending scenario that got old when Legend of Everfree kicks in. It needs slice-of-story to flesh out the characters a bit whom are not Sunset or Sci-Twi (who are usually the focus)
I’m really not sure how I feel about EQG nowadays. I loved it when it was a series of movies, cause they had longer runtime then the show, so they had time to have a plot and subplots develop and converge, and to build up things properly, and to have a normal 3 act structure. “Rainbow Rocks” and “Friendship Games” are on my list of the best things that came out of MLP. But ever since they’ve started to do shorter stuff and it started to seem like they aren’t going back to the movie format anytime soon - I don’t know how I feel about it anymore. Shorts were always hit or miss for me, and mostly miss. 22 minute specials were okay as was “Forgotten memories”, but writing and pacing on both of them feels lacking compared to the movies.
Also the longer this series goes on the more it becomes apparent that it doesn’t have a world building of it’s own, it was just stiched together to make the first movie possible. The more you think about how this school and the world operates the less sense it makes. And the longer this series keeps going - the more time I have to think about it. To have the legs of it’s own EQG needs to introduce some changes to fix this “stiched together” problem or at least to try to explain things other than magic.
I don’t hate EG. I like it a lot actually. I just wish it’d just continued forever as a series of movies.

Sunset Shimmer isn’t the main character of the first EG movie.
Lay off the koolaid.
Sunset Shimmer, your argument is invalid. XP
