And then the cockatrice learned the hard way that Discord was just trolling with him, before the draconequus proceeded to turn the cockatrice into a regular chicken, stripping him of his power, and left him in Fluttershy’s hen house.

I’d say this wouldn’t actually work.
 
I mean, why did it take the Elements of Harmony to stop him both times? I’m sure that a simple petrification spell wouldn’t be that difficult for two alicorns to learn…
 
And I doubt this would be anywhere near as effective at binding his magic as the Tree of Harmony is.

Wait, so if Fluttershy’s stare is stronger than a Cockatrice’s glare, and Discord is unaffected by Fluttershy’s stare, how can he be affected by the Cockatrice?
