Hey everyone^^

What you see here is the finished present for my lovely snoopystallion :D I decided to draw his OC as Luigi (which is one of our favourite video game characters^^) doing the death stare from mario Kart XD (since I know he does like extravagant facial expressions :P )

Can I just say, how proud I am of this piece? It is rare that I work with soft shading like this since I am more of a “cartoony” artist, but I certainly did feel like working on a piece a little more special - using it for my soft shading practice and realism try outs just as for lightning studies^^ . I had so much fun working with different brushes to put layer over layer of colours on this drawing, creating a more or less three dimensional look to it and make it a little more lively.

At first, I was only working in grey scale and later added the colours of his fur (brighten it up and adding black spots) and using the typical colour scheme Luigi has as I used purple tones and greens to create an interesting contrast.

The background should create the asthetic of an old picture hangingon a wall and I had fun adding the texture and little lineart details like a mushroom or a star etc.

During the progress, I had a few difficulties or didn’t like some certain areas, but soon I learned to stay patient and focussed, just going on so it will turn out better and not judge too early :P I learned a lot while working on this christmas present and I really really REALLY hope you like it :D
