The Season 1 train looked cooler with its plain wood cars and bare iron engine but had the gag of being pulled by other ponies.
The Season 2/3 train is actually Coal driven but has this overly frilly appearance that the Driver must be ashamed to work on. Also, that bobbing effect on the cars when it moves just looks a little overly cheesy. But who am I to say someone on a little girls show is too girly?
All the other engines they’ll tell you so
He huffs and puffs and whistles
Rushing to and fro
He’s the really useful engine we adore!
He’s the one, he’s the one
He’s the really useful engine that we adore
He’s the one, he’s the number one
Thomas the Tank Engine
He’s a really useful engine, you know
Cos the Fat Controller, he told him so
Now he’s got a branch line
To call his very own
He’s the really useful engine we adore
He’s the one, he’s the one
He’s the really useful engine that we adore
He’s the one, he’s the number one
Thomas the Tank Engine
Little blue train, he’s always there
Whenever you need a hand
If you need help with a situation
Who comes into mind
He’s the one, he’s the one
He’s the really useful engine that we adore
He’s the one, he’s the number one
Thomas the Tank Engine
He’s a really useful engine, you know
Maybe little, but he’s never slow
Stand back in amazement
Just you watch him go
He’s the really useful engine we adore
He’s the one, he’s the one
He’s the really useful engine that we adore
He’s the one, he’s the number one
Thomas the Tank Engine
He’s the really useful engine we adore!
Isn’t that a gas turbine?
Talking about steam turbines, we had a few in Britain. Although this one looks like it has eyes.
How about some steam turbine locos?
But I do rather like Alco. I’m fairly certain its impossible for any railfan to dislike Alco.
…EMD…
As long as they’re Alco diesels :P
>tfw i prefer american diesels and feel like a scrub
But I did do a quick search for “french steam locomotives” and I must say they look quite nice. In fact, i’d have to agree with Mr. Leopard, French locos seem more interesting than British ones.
It’s OK, everyone is entitled to an opinion.
I just don’t really like their shape…French locomotives are much more interesting.
>says british trains are boring

Honestly, British locomotives look kinda boring to me, despite their colours.
Let ’em try this!
Something like the Jupiter is what I had in mind. The aesthetics of it would seem to match the show nicely.
In what style though? Jupiter/119? Penn 1223? European? :P
Or alternately, Southern Railway’s PS-4 class 4-6-2.
Same with crashes, accidental switch changing, car decoupling, and foxes.
Dear Celestia the foxes.
With allot less explosions.
