Frosting Pin is the son of Pokey Pierce and Pinkie Pie. He is the only son to Pinkie and Pokey both, but the third child for Pinkie Pie.
Frosting prefers to go by the name “Frost” because he is not fond of the name “Frosting” and often got teased for his name when he was a little colt.
When Frost was brought into the picture, he was often found in Humor’s care, with Chimi not far behind her.. But Chimi was a bit too “rough” with him when he was a foal, so Pinkie ensured Humor keep an eye on him.
Frost was born with a blue and pink mane, similar to both his parents’ traits. But as he got older and independant, Frost decided to dye the blue in his mane to a dark grey. This was out of respect towards his mother and disapproval of his father after the way he treated Pinkie and the family. (Information on Pokey’s lie/betrayal in Humor’s bio)
Although Pokey is Frost’s true father, he was raised by Cheese Sandwich, and after all they’ve been through he has more respect for Cheese than he ever would his paternal father. (Who, despite being able to, never comes to visit his children anymore)
Frost found his destiny when he was young, helping his mother in the bakery for some donuts and snacks to bring to school the next day and share with the class as show and tell. While they were working, Frost kept turning on Pinkie’s radio and despite the many times Pinkie would try to shut it off and tell him to focus on what he was doing, Frost kept turning it back on and danced while he was baking. Even though it seemed Frost wasn’t paying attention to what he was doing, the donuts came out perfect and he frosted them all the while continuing to dance and sing, talking to the radio host as if he was in the room with him. It was then that Frost realized he wanted to become a DJ, all the while still having a natural talent at baking and decorating.
One of Frost’s closest friends growing up was Crescendo. The two of them went to Magic Kindergarten together and became close friends as soon as their first day of school. Although Crescendo was, kind of, a bad influence on Frost. In the beginning, Frost was studious, and couldn’t wait to learn how to handle his magic better; But once he met Crescendo he learned the art of “procrastination”. Despite Crescendo’s mature and regal status now, he was quite the trouble maker as a colt, and it rubbed off on Frost.
Frost’s first love was a mare by the name of Gala Blossom. (Daughter of Big Macintosh and Cheerilee) She was a teacher in Elementary who taught Frost’s little sister, Sprinkles, and her friends. For a while, the two were inseperable, despite Big Mac’s wishes for him not to be with her. But his rebellious ways rubbed off on Gala, and she continued seeing him behind her father’s back. They were together until a tragic event caused Gala to lose her memory. Eventually, she gained most of her memories back over time, but she never remembered being in a relationship with Frost; Even though she wished she could. Taking it as a twist of fate, Gala ended any chance of them picking up where they left off, and told Frost he was meant for someone else and that everything happens for a reason.
Soon after Gala’s accident, she ended up back in the hospital and eventually passed away from a brain aneurism, caused by the dormant damage to her brain after the accident. Frost was devasted about her passing, but at the same time continued to remind himself about the last advice Gala gave to him. And that advice was towards another pony, a pony who was in love with Frost and wanted him happy. This pony was named Half-Note. (Daughter of Neon Lights and Vinyl Scratch [DJ Pon3])
Half-Note is Frost’s co-worker and partner Radio Host. She helps locate the songs he airs on the radio and sparks conversation during passtime. Throughout the Gala arch, Half-Note was there for Frost when no pony else was. Until Gala opened his eyes, Frost never realized how much she cared about him.
