In another fic based of the original starfleet, Starlight voluntarily helps Starfleet deal with undesirables. I guess the writer of that fic noticed the similarities between Starfleet and Our Town.

The writer made a Starfleet Season where Starlight is actually working with the bad guys, and in the end she has a change of heart, but she dies in a heroic sacrifice to actually help Starfleet, and is, later, reborn as an infant.
