Comparing cartoon ponies to real-life racism is more than a little asinine.

The official description of earth ponies still doesn’t quite seem accurate to me…. I mean, surely there are nimble and meek earth ponies who don’t give a hoof about the environment. It’s like saying all black people have an affinity for watermelon and fried chicken. In truth, both of these things are AMAZING and everyone loves them. Or maybe some people hate them, who knows. But even still, have we even see this “powerful connection to nature” in any earth pony other than possibly Apple Jack or the others in her family? Even then, does that really count, or is it just simply a life style? Anyone can be a good farmer with enough experience and intuition, and the will to work hard. So what about Fluttershy then? She’s a Pegasus and yet she’s got the strongest affinity for nature in the whole show - she’s like a druid. I don’t remember any earth ponies who can literally speak to bunnies, birds and even small insects and spiders.

Going into this book further, I discovered it was published by Dorling Kindersley. As in the same book publishing company who graced the reading world with the Eyewitness books.
