I say just go with “Ditzy-Doo,” and just have “Derpy” as a fan nickname. (Sense they can’t use it in the show, and stuff anymore.)

Honestly, I’ll still call her Derpy… as I said more than once, she was “born” from us fans by that name, developed by that name and grew into a solid character by that name.  
And most of us love her by that name.
 
Doing otherwise, in my opinion, would be like going to see my nephew (yes, I have one) and telling him that from this day on his name will be something wholly different, despite his name being just fine in my and my stepbrother (his dad)’s opinion. His father would have every damn reason in the world to tell me to take a hike.
 
Derpy is Derpy because we love her as Derpy. Simple as that. Any other name, well, doesn’t feel the same.

I still think our fandom should’ve adopted the name Ditzy Doo, it’s in the same vein, and it’s cute and bubbly sounding like a My Little Pony pony’s name should be.

This IS wishful thinking.

Why not just Dizzy Doo? That is her alternative name since Winter Wrap Up.  
But still Derpy Hooves is a fine name IMHO. But it is just the Fan name, and it was a shout out to the bronies that it was mentioned in the last roundup. A shame what happened afterwards.  
Still, why aren’t we over it already? It’s been almost 10 months, or so.
 
I think Doctor Whooves and Assistant made the best out of it. There her real name is Ditzy and her nickname is Derpy. Thats fine with me.  
Same Thing with Lyra/ Heartstrings and Golden Harvest/ Carrot Top.

Honestly, if it ever came to that, I’d vouch for Ditzy Doo.
