Didi: Oh goodie you’re back. Where’s my lighter?
 
Jasper: I…I forgot…
 
Didi: [signs] Then why the Hell are you still standing there?
 
Jasper: I found out what happened to Twigs! She…she was adopted…by the element of Generousity…. All this time I thought she’d been kidnapped or wandered off and died but she’s okay! And healthy! I’ve never seen her so happy-
 
Didi: [deeper sigh] I’m aware Jasper, I saw her prancing after that wannabe fashionista a month after you lost her.
 
Jasper: Wait…you told me I’d lost her. You let me live 3 years thinking she was dead?!
 
Didi: You did lose her. Now get out of my face and go buy me a lighter.
 
Jasper: MOM, I thought she was dead! You LET me believe she was dead-
 
Didi: And that’s your punishment, you pathetic brat! You chose to be a fucking drama queen and run off and dragged the little twerp off into the freezing cold just because I don’t kiss your ass and waste my time cooing over every stupid little thing you do. You had a roof over your heads and you chose to run off because I don’t lick the ground like one of those Friendship sycophants. Guess what kid, life ain’t fair or happy and sometimes we don’t get the closure we want only the closure we deserve. She isn’t dead, but you lost her. Now quit your bitching, stick a tampon in that ridiculous bloody nose and go buy me a fucking lighter! If you aren’t back in 15 minutes this time don’t bother coming back. I’m tired of paying my heating bills for your sorry ass.

I’ve been playing around with character interactions and I sorta didn’t know how to breach the topic of Jasper and Jade’s relationship. But here we go.
 
For those who didn’t read the block of text or didn’t understand the implications here’s what you missed.
 
Jasper [now only known as Jasper not Styx or Jasper Wish] ran away from home with his little sister Twigs [later renamed Jade Luck] because they were being raised by this charming one winged ex-pageant winner Aphrodite’s Kiss [Didi]  
Originally I’d designed her to be a physically abusive tattoo artist but Didi is less physically abusive and more mentally and psychologically damaging though I wouldn’t put it past her not to raise her hooves to her children.  
I think Jasper is willing to put up with abuse but when he saw his sister suffering he felt like he had to act.
 
The two of them lived on the street for a month and Jade panhandled. She was eventually taken in by Rarity but she was too young to communicate that she wasn’t alone. When Jasper feverishly searched for his sister and found nothing he assumed that she’d been killed or kidnapped and defeated, went home to his mother.  
He lived with her until about 17-18 years old until she unceremoniously kicked him out
 
He’s never truly interacted with Rarity but he did reconnect with Jade on his own accord
