Kerfuffle is the third and youngest second born son of Discord and Celestia. Pretty much before he could even open his eyes, Kerfuffle was already performing chaos magic. Despite Discord being more than pleased, Celestia had a difficult time trying to contain her new son’s crazy baby chaos magic.
Kerfuffle soon learned how to control his chaos magic, in turn almost losing his ability to use magic all together.. But with the help of Topsy and Chaos, he’s learning again. He has trouble using actual magic due to his horn being curved inwards.
Kerfuffle originally was sent to Magic Kindergarten in Canterlot, but eventually asked to transfer to an easier school in Ponyville where there were no “snobby unicorn foals” to tease him. That was when he met one of his best friends, Sprinkles. She was the first of the new class to walk up and introduce herself, and she was the first one to fully accept him for who he was.
With Kerfuffle being the only one born without wings, it often made him feel left out or not as important as his older siblings. He vowed one day he too would be able to fly with his family. Eventually as he got older he discovered he could focus his magic into the energy of his fur and create gorgeous wings of magic light, with chaos magic to keep him afloat. It’s not exactly physical wings and its not exactly flying, but he found a way to soar in the sky with his family; despite being wingless.
Kerfuffle has a sort of rivalry with Rainboom; out of all the other CMC’s, Rainboom is the one who challanged Kerfuffle the most; Especially when around Snowflake, Rainboom’s best friend. He doesn’t mind of course, a little competition keeps his blood pumping.
Kerfuffle isn’t interested in taking his place on the throne and is much more interested in following after his father in chaos magic. (For good though, of course)
