The movie’s canon. The Hippogriffs and seaponys will appear in season 8 and Canterlot and Canterlot Castle’s designs have changed in season 8 to look more like they did in the movie as well.
 
I haven’t the faintest clue why people having fun over a ship bothers you this much. A lot of people just do it for fun and don’t take it that seriously (my little picture in the description was merely just a joke for example).

I know right? Is like if your characters stare more than 20 seconds is automatically a ship. Too bad there was not any Flash Sentry/Timber/Starswirl in the movie because Twilight would totally become crazy! anyways I always think in the movie like a dream or something out-canon. But the important thing is that Twilight should be friking alone on Hearts and Hooves day as I! How she dares to have love affairs with Tempest and half of Equestria while me in this side of the mirror gets nothing!. I hope the ship sinks like the Titanic I don’t care here is my downvote. Celestia should be the king and queen of gen 5, keep your hooves together y’all!
