I had already indirectly referenced Catrina and Capper in my previous comment. :\
It was normal for dresses to be made in a “generic” size and then adapted to the purchaser/wearer’s size.
Pretty much what Rarity would be doing in the show 70% of the time if it wasn’t a cartoon where everypony is the same size and shape.
There was an anthro cat named Catrina in G1
