She did make more friends, but then they died too, so she made some more friends, but then they died too- so on and so forth until either A) the Princess of Friendship got sick of her friends always dying on her and she gave up trying to befriend mortals, or B) the building grief had ebbed away every last ounce of her sanity.
Judging by her eyes in this pic, I assume it was probably the latter possibility.
