Best G1-to-G4 headcanon evar

That sounds pretty neat. I wouldn’t mind reading a fully fledged fanfic or fan comic based on this idea.

So, I love headcanons that tie in the older generations of ponies into G4. One of my favourite of these headcanons I have seen is that Queen Majesty is… Celestia and Luna’s mum! I absolutely adore it and it’s basically canon to me unless the show explicitly refutes it :P
 
Firstly there’s the physical resemblances: white coat and purple eyes like Celestia (as well Celestia’s jewellery looks just like Majesty’s!!), pale blue hair like Luna (in season 1 at least). She even has the original Spike the dragon as her pet :D
 
Then there’s her personality…  
Majesty is the Queen of the ponies in G1. She is also by far, the most powerful unicorn. Most unicorns in G1 can perform one type of magic, usually related to their symbol/cutie mark (e.g. Gusty can create small gusts of wind, Fizzy can shoot bubbles or something., etc). Majesty breaks this rule hardcore because she can pretty much do anything!  
She is wise, immensely powerful, patient, and kind- many of the G1 comics show ponies going to her for advice, or her helping out the ponies.  
She possesses many extremely magical artifacts, such as her golden horseshoes which allow her to turn invisible!
 
But Majesty also has her dark side… and it is quite dark.  
She is seen on more than one occasion doling out punishments to her enemies which include turning her enemies into stone (hmm that sounds familiar ;) ), or even just vanishing them into a puff of smoke. Yeah. This lady has a kill-streak lol.
 
In my headcanon she is all about seeing just what she can do and testing the limits of her magic. I wouldn’t call it power hungry… and she’s certainly never becoming a villain (I think it’d be too easy and obvious for her. Instead she’s just … a really morally ambiguous character lol)… but I imagine she tries all kinds of crazy things all the time ‘just because’, without always understanding the impact she has on others.  
Because of this I think many other kingdoms would be quite afraid of her, and by the time her reign ends (and we move into G2 and G3, which feature ponies-only as far as species go), Ponyland doesn’t interact with many other cultures anymore (leading into why G4 ponies are JUST discovering or befriending other nations for the first time, haha).
 
Anyway, one day she gets the craziest idea of all: what if she can create life?  
Majesty already owns a magic mirror that can provide ponies with babies. By standing in front of the mirror and wishing for a child, ponies can ‘create’ what seems like a miniature clone of themselves (but is not identical). These babies are … creatively… named after their mothers in the sense that Cotton Candy’s baby is named “Baby Cotton Candy”.  
But, Majesty decides, she doesn’t just want to use the mirror to clone herself. That wouldn’t be using her magic, would it?
 
So instead she performs a great experiment, enchanting the mirror and funnelling a huge amount of her own magic into it. This ultimately destroys the mirror in a big, rainbow explosion (because of course!), and left standing and quivering in the dust are two VERY strange little fillies: Celestia and Luna.  
Why are they so strange? They are the first ever winged unicorns (or alicorns, as they later come to be known).
 
This event changes Majesty quite a bit. She finally realises her actions have sometimes very, very powerful consequences. Now that she has created two fillies out of nothing, she must look after them, as they see her as their mother. So after this event she tones down some of her wild mischief and settles more on ruling her kingdom, and raising her daughters. Note: I imagine she is actually already quite old when she creates the sisters- nearly 50 I’d say!
 
She introduces her new daughters to the rest of her ponies and they happily accept the two girls. Celestia, for looking so much like her mother, is teasingly called “Baby Majesty” by the other ponies.
 
(After writing this I realise Majesty’s personality is like Celestia, Luna, and Discord’s all rolled into one lol.)  
Note: I know most people draw young Celestia with pink hair, but I wanted to play up on her similar appearance to her mum, so I went with the teal coloured stripe from her adult mane.
 
More fun:  
Putting that much intense magic into the creation of Celestia and Luna did have a side effect…  
…  
… another creature was born from the pure chaotic energy of that explosion… DISCORD!
 
(so technically Discord is their brother. None of them ever know this, though. Not even Majesty).
