@Cheeses
Or the fact that this special’s release date is like 3 days after valentine day? this “love is in the air” is all a joke about how this special is being release 3 days after valentine day
@Sr Pelusa
I would love to see more bisexual guys, lesbians, and gay men in fiction. But even with the amount of bisexual female characters out there, I honestly still don’t think it’s a lot. In terms of Western Animation aimed at a general audience, I still can only think about probably less than 10 bisexual female characters whereas with heterosexual characters, I can easily think of a whole lot more.
I think the reason why there might be a “large” amount of bisexual women in the media would probably have to be chalked up to a lot of different reasons. The first would be, a lot of writers are male and the Girl on Girl is Hot trope could be at play there. (And before any misunderstandings happen, I’m not saying that focusing on a particular type of same sex relationship is just a guy thing. I’ve seen a lot of female writers that like gravitating towards guy on guy kind of action as well. People have their preferences.)
The second one stems from culture. It’s generally more accepted for women to be bisexual then men (years ago I saw that it was almost kind of common for some people to even say that bisexual guys don’t exist). Likewise the term gay has been used as a insult amonst a lot of guys over the years so I wouldn’t be surprised if that has
And I think the third might have to do with where the shows are aired as well. Some countries are still behind in terms of LGBT rights and will censor gay content that appears in the media. So having bisexual characters, might be an easier way for people to get their shows played internationally. In some cases, the show might have even come out before LGBT characters started to be more frequent in fiction so the bisexual angle being played makes sense in those situations too.
@mjangelvortex
There are wayy too many bisexual women in media, but bisexual men and lesbians seem to be absent.
And I don’t really see any ship fuel here, just to persosn greeting at each other, the only “shipping” thing here is Pinkie glomping Rainbow
@Background Pony #86A7
It amuses me when people say that kind of thing. It’s like these people never considered that a character could ever possibly be bisexual. They’re either gay or straight.
Hasbro, are you trying to tell us something???

Maybe they run out of money for the run time of this ad and the word “friendship” was too long …
ok just kidding maybe they just wanted to do something for the fans
Almost everyone love shipping
Edited
If they really wanted to mean “platonic love”, they would have just said “Friendship”.
As much as I like shipping, I do also love me some platonic love.

I think that doesn’t add “implied sunsetsparkle” automatically, though. Just FYI.
Thanks, though.

We just need to add “implied scitwishimmer”, the relevant tags will be back.
