Pretty apt description but Schizophrenia can manifest in many different ways.

As paranoia, as cognitive impairment, or as hallucinations or mental fogginess.

The most common is paranoia. I’m not a psychologist but that’s my off hand understanding. I can’t really add more.

Schizophrenia is commonly misused as a term for Dissociative Identity Disorder, the having of multiple personalities, but, in truth, schizophrenia is hearing or seeing things that aren’t actually there to anyone but the schizophrenic.
