^This. THIS is a perfect explanation on why she never written to him. With how she explained the situation in the season 5 finale and how the pain clearly never went away, it’s very clear that she thought he didn’t care about her anymore and didn’t want to risk that pain but she didn’t want to be alone forever so she made that little community, or how she liked to call it, sanctuary.
 
In short: her not reaching out makes sense. I wonder what Sunburst’s excuse is.

I’m not sure. I didn’t look at the leaks (at least not those parts of the leaks).But if it’s the one with Sunburst’s and Starlight’s parents that people have been talking about, then yep. That’s the one.

Not to mention, in this comic’s universe, Starlight had an abusive father who hated Sunburst’s family for calling him out on his shit. So he could have been keeping any letters Sunburst sent away from her.

You’re five-six years old. Your best friend has just moved to another city across the country, so you write him a letter. You ask him how he’s adjusting, and ask him to write you back. You sign the letter, put it in an envelope, then as you go to label it, you realize… you have no idea whatsoever what his address is. You can’t just put his name on the envelope and mail it, that’s not how the post office works. But it’s fine, right? You’ll just wait for his letter to arrive first, then you’ll have his return address, and can write him whenever you like.
 
So you wait. You wait a few days, then a few weeks, maybe even a few months, but eventually you realize the truth. You friend has forgotten about you and moved on. And at that point you’ve got a choice to make.
 
Do you reach out anyways, do whatever it takes to get a letter to your friend, even though he may ignore or reject your friendship again? Or do you avoid the possibility of feeling that pain again, give up on your friend the same way your friend gave up on you, and do whatever it takes to avoid being hurt again?

I (maybe foolishly) wish they show in some way in canon that Starlight and Sunburst are going to be a couple/have a thing for each other,i’m absolutely not asking for an episode dedicated to it or showing them swapping saliva,that’ll be too much even for me, but if for example in the last episode they show those two pushing a stroller together or something more subtle than my bad non-writer ideas,that’ll be neat

One of the reasons there’s so few of this ship is because most prefer the main ponies of the show to be gay. That or they usually want StarTrix.

She almost looks angry in the last panel. First she kisses him, then makes him invite her to his room (possible for some “fun”) and then she asks him a question that could turn bad for him.
