A Paint Tool SAI adaptation of The Purple One’s Rampage, finally finished after some procrastination!
Trouble Shoes Clyde should have known better than to enter an allegedly-cursed cavern for a guided tour on the 500th anniversary of Haasaparo and his warriors’ defeat of the tyrannical Purple Witch Empress. After a long era of peace and prosperity, he was about to witness the culmination of Horseland’s gradual downfall with his own primitive eyes.
The tour consisted mostly of his fellow horses, guided by an irresponsible, inexperienced automaton, Mr. Blauserration, who cared more about his profit than the safety of his customers. It should have been as he did in some other scam-tours, when his tourists were taken by threats too horrible to be named. This time, no thanks to a careless horse’s consumption of the plants that decorated Twilight’s bed, he will be going with his current victims, and he will never return with their stolen money.
No matter the cause – Buttons’ careless lunch, Mr. Blau’s littering, or the stench of the horses – all that mattered was that they had awakened the Bringer of Horseland’s Destruction, and they became her first victims for the simple act of not bringing any books to appease her back to sleep and another 500 years of watchful peace. To the obsessed mind behind those violet eyes, any mortal lesser than her was but a plaything, a toy, a test subject in her many depraved experiments in her twisted search for knowledge.
Mr. Blau was turned into the very thing that he loved the most – a basketball that consisted of his crumpled metallic body. All the other horses were afterwards stunned and unconscious, leaving only one, Trouble Shoes, heading away from the purple-robed monster that grew into a giantess behind him.
“Help! Help me!” he cried. “Twilight has woken up, and is preparing to destroy the world! Somepony, help!”
The giantess behind him, fuelled with magic, rage, and a malicious delight, summoned a shower of book meteors and several bolts of lightning from the clouds massing above her at the cavern’s roof.
“Why run and scream for help, Trouble Boy?” Twilight taunted. “Embrace me, and partake in my massive knowledge.”
“You’re a monster, Twilight Sparkle!” the Clydesdale stallion whinnied angrily. “I would rather be vaporised than to live to see my world get dissolved or distorted in another of your evil experiments!”
“Wait! Trouble Shoes, come back!” Twilight pleaded to the desperate draft horse, her cruelty turned to faux commiseration. “You can just work with me as a test subject, and I will grant you all the best you can think of!”
But he refused to listen. Driven to insanity from his fear of Twilight’s growing figure behind him, he ran towards a hole in the cavern walls next to the sealed entrance. When he entered he was assailed by the mutant clones that emerged from their cryogenics chambers. Those savages were about to eat him when Twilight intervened and demanded that they bring the runaway horse to her.
He afterwards awoke and found himself within a lab, anticipating with fear on the purple threat’s next experiment …_
