Spike is only a baby by dragon standards. His mental and language capacity suggests he is a pre-teen as far as pony aging is concerned. Moreover, once Spike makes it past 20 in pony years the age difference won’t even be awkward anymore. There are plenty of married couples in real life (I actually know some myself) with an age gap of a decade or possibly even more.
Spike has been stated to be a baby, and he hatched when twilight was a filly.
Also, demotivationals are ancient history since even well before FiM became a thing.
