If Sparkler is is dinky’s sister, then it’s not completely impossible for Derpy to be her mother, Sparkler could have another mother. That would mean that the father of Dinky and Sparkler is… Quite old…

By knowing that we also know that Derpy can’t be the mom to Sparkler, since they’re roughly the same age. Sparkler is an adult (the same everything as everyone on the show) while parents to the adults always looks old on the show. Therefore Derpy can’t be the mom to Sparkler and can’t be the mom to Dinky.

Nothing in the show ever said if Derpy does or does not have a daughter, or if Dinky is even related to her. We only know that Dinky and Sparkler are sisters.

Is it really headcanon if it goes explicitly against the show? In that case my headcanon says that Applejack is a banker in Manehattan and has never met Twilight. It’s my headcanon and you can’t change that.

It was disproven when it turned out that Dinky had a sister that was as old as Derpy. It’s pretty hard to have a kid that’s the same age as yourself.
