I’m not too sad about the show ending. I do think there are a lot of things in G4 they could expand upon in future shorts or comics, like the Student Six, other non-pony creatures, and even some of our favorite background ponies, but all in all I’ve kind of accepted the end of FiM (possibly also due to my interest in MLP sort of waning).
 
It’s the whole G5 reboot thing I am a little concerned about.

People are tribal by nature and programmed by instinct to become attached to things they consider part of their accustomed environment. MLP:FIM helps a lot of people feel safe. Of course some people are going to miss it/worry what life will be like without it. I have all the sympathy in the world for those people. I myself am doing my best to accept the inevitability of change (something we all struggle with to one degree or another).
 
It’s just some people are emotionally stunted and that’s where you get people flipping out/raging over it.

I honestly cant understand why people are so uppity about the end of FIM.I mean to a certain extent ,i can emphatize with people being a bit disspapointed/sad as in “oh no my favorite cartoon is ending ,it suck” i mean yeah,it suck a little but then you remember it lasted a full decade (aka a good run all things considered) and you also remeber that cartoons that overstay their welcome (think of Post-Movie Simpsons,SpongeBob Squarepants dark age post season 5,post season 7 Family Guy) tend to become a shadow of their former selves in the best case (Simpsons who still got a chuckle/good idea or gimmick from time) or a grotesque parody of the orignal concept (sociopathic flanderization of Family Guy or SpongeBob Squarepants).It’s not cancelled nor it is cut in it’s prime,it’s ending like everything is going to end and IMO it’s going to end not too soo or too late and since there is 2 season left,the writers are not taken by surprise and have,i think, pretty much time to plan the ending ,cut looses end and turn unturned stones (who are Scootaloo or Spike parents,what is the baby destiny)

This discussion is a tire fire. Folks G4 has inspired a lot of people to be more creative, kind and awesome to each other. Even if it’s going to end it’s done a lot of good. There’s zero good reason to be a dick to anyone about anything. Just be kind.

best bet is to give at least 10 episodes(or 5), watch to see where it’s going and if it won’t be shit.

Man, I’m not quite sure how to react to the end of G4 and the beginning of G5. On the one hand, I’ve been waiting since S5 for G4 to end, not because of the show turning to shit, but because of the potential for the show to turn to shit a la everything I’m on record for being a hater of.
 
On the other hand, I’m not sure how to feel about G5. Do I stay or do I go?

I have questions, Mainly why did almost everyone of them switch types? wait, more importantly how can twilight still have a magic cutie mark when she’s an earth pony now?
