Description

Patch: “A unicorn! A flying unicorn! Wait until the gang hears about this, I can’t believe this is really happening! Do you know Bright Glow? Did she send you? Where do you come from? What can you do with your magic? Can you give me wings, too? I have so many questions!”

Twilight: “That goes for both of us.”

Speaking of Bright Glow (a one-off character in the My Little Pony Tales episode Up, Up, and Away, in case you were curious), did anyone notice how she and her buddies were all aglow and covered in these little secondary cutie marks? In hindsight those look like rainbow power forms. And there was a pink alicorn with a white and blue mane and parasol cutie mark with them, too. Cadence is pink, Shining armor is blue and white, they’ve already proven they can produce alicorns, Shiny’s cutie mark is a shield, Cadence’s is the crystal heart, the function of a shield/the crystal heart is to protect someone from something, parasols shield people from the elements, more specifically the sun. What if parasol princess hails from an AU where Daybreaker has taken the elements and become unstoppable? Parasol’s part of the resistance and her special talent is anti-light magic. She and her friends confront Daybreaker in their rainbow forms and she sends them to Patch’s world via the Crystal Mirror which, in the comics, is connected to multiple alternate dimensions.

It makes perfect sense.

Goodbye Ponk Pie Hat
“Oh my I’m so so pleased this spell worked! Meeting Patch the Perspicacious out of ancient legend but in pony person! Um, hello. My name’s Princess Twilight and I’m from the future, and you’re… say, you really do look very like a certain little foundling from my time…”

Half-cocked headcanon: Patch looks like Scootaloo’s ancestor, but is in fact an older Scootaloo after the CMCs are lost in a time rift when the reboot worms come for their era of history.

The CMCs are scattered through the greataway with no memories or cutie marks, yet somehow they reunite after many adventures. The story of how they do so, and how their happentracks lead to the rediscovery of high magic during the lost and damned eras forms an important three stanzas in the Song of Ponyland, the part beginning:

Together they grew, yet riven apart,
The orphan, the grower, and the one of light heart…

There are good records that seem to show that Scootaloo falls back in time to the decadent suburban end of the first era of magic, and is taken in for several years by loving foster parents. It is thought that Apple Bloom was cast away for a time on Butterfly Island and introduced orchards to the pegasus ponies living there. Sweetie Belle’s story is more of a mystery because few records survived from the pony dark ages in a form that could be read in later times. Only Zacherle the Everlasting and the holographic records of the Rainbow truly know.

Wait what if they made an episode where the mane seven meet there generation 1 counterparts?
