Twilight: “Depose her!?”
 
Tempest: “This isn’t something that’s going to go away. If she’s gone as far as to declare you, a fellow princess and her former student, a traitor that has to be killed, neither she nor Equestria as a whole will rest until either you burn alive, or she leaves the picture, permanently.”
 
Twilight: “But, she’s the Princess! I’ve looked up to her as long as I can remember!”
 
Tempest: “And she’s just proven how much that means to her in the end.”
 
Twilight: “Wha… But… I… She…”
 
Tempest: “Everybody has a part of themselves that they keep hidden from the world. It’s never pretty when it gets revealed, but it just about always happens. The question now is what do you do now that you know? Do you roll over and die? Or do you fight for the truth?”
 
Twilight: “… fight. Fight for the truth. Even if, I h-have to fight… to k-ki-kill~~…”
 
Tempest: “Twilight, if it does get to that point ~~ and it doesn’t have to, but if it does, I’ll be the one to do it. You’ll have to lead the new Equestria, and the ruler that begins their rule with bloodshed will only end it with bloodshed.”
 
Twilight: “I… I don’t want to do this. But I know I have to… but I’m not sure I can do it. Not on my own.”
 
Tempest: “You won’t have to do it alone. If your friends really are your friends, they’ll join you. And even if they don’t, I promise, I’ll stick with you until the bitter end.”
 
Twilight: “Thank you, Tempest.”
 
Tempest: “For you, Twilight, it’s Fizzlepop Berrytwist. Just don’t call me that in public.”
 
 

 
 
Two years later, Princess Twilight Sparkle succeeds in overthrowing the diarchy.
 
It takes months to reorganize the government and socioeconomic structure, and occasional rebellions continue for years afterwords. Throughout the war and rebellions, Twilight and her top general Tempest Shadow do their best to keep causalities to a minimum, even using terror tactics when the alternative would be costly battles that would result in needless deaths. All but their fiercest opponents had to admit that their attempts saved thousands of lives. War became fear, then uncertainty, then acceptance, with minimum loss of life.
 
As Tempest predicted, all her friends, even Applejack, who wholeheartedly disagreed with her, and Rainbow Dash, who constantly struggled with her divided loyalties, joined her in her battle against Celestia and Luna. Princess Cadence and Prince Shining Armor, rulers of the Crystal Empire to the north, unable to decide between Equestria and Twilight, stayed neutral throughout the war, supporting their sister and sister-in-law when she emerged victorious, furthering the legitimacy of her rule. And at the finale battle at Canterlot, the Princess Sisters willingly stepped down, declaring her the victor, and disappearing from the pages of history.
 
Two generations later, Princess Twilight was proven correct. Although the final fates of Celestia and Luna would remain a mystery, rapid magical and technological innovation would eventually lead to space travel, where concentrated studies over a period of years proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the planet did indeed orbit the sun, rather than the other way around as was so long believed. While some would insist that the missing Princesses made things that way some time before or after their departure, the confirmation of her theory would bring an end to a long-held pain and doubt in the hearts of Princess Twilight and her friends, eventually allowing them to rest easy and pass on with no regrets.
 
And through it all, Tempest Shadow, aka Fizzlepop Berrytwist, would prove to be Twilight’s greatest supporter, most steadfast friend, and, eventually, the love of her life. Many ponies would swear that Celestia and Luna were watching from far away at their wedding, attended by tourists and dignitaries from all over the world. Unwilling and unable to imagine a world without her, Twilight Sparkle would eventually discover a way to allow her love to ascend like she had. Though it would come too late to save her other friends, something that tore at her heart, Fizzlepop and her undying love would support her through the toughest of times. And so the two ruled, lived, and loved, happily ever after.

Depends on the source it seems. By some accounts he was hung first ( and that being a costume for burnings at the time) and by some he was denied that and just burned. No idea which is right.

Galileo died under house arrest, after being forced to abjure his heliocentric theory by the Inquisition. If he hadn’t abjured, he would have been tortured until the final confession of his “mistake”.
 
Giordano Bruno was burned alive at the stake in Rome by the Inquisition for his theory of an infinite universe, with stars as suns with their own planets:

Didnt Galileo die of old age at past 70? I know Bruno was burned after being hung.
 
I mean i know the issue was because one of his later books had a characted thats name could be interpreted as “simpleton” and used said character to represent the then popes views? (said pope being one of his bigger defenders and a close friend)
 
Though that was some 20+ years before he died and some years after the whole issue with heliocentrism and him only being allowed to discuss it in a mathemathical way rather then as a fact.

Knowing what happened to Galileo Galilei and Giordano Bruno, this probably won’t end well.
