Then the error lies in your cable box’s source or output. If you get the definitive version of the episode from iTunes, I don’t think you’ll find this.

I recorded it direct from cable (it ends up as a .TS file, so it’s essentially the same thing that was received by my cable box.)  
I haven’t tried recording any other shows recently, but I haven’t changed any of the hardware or software that I’m using, since the previous season.
