I liked how Starlight put it, namely what right does the EEA have to stop Twilight from doing her job? It’d be like weather ponies telling Celestia to shorten or lengthen the day. Sure the details can be contested, but the Tree of Harmony clearly wants the ponies to reach out more to the surrounding lands and species.
