I feel it would have been better to make him more than a regular dragon, say a special dragon with some hidden potential or magic connection(maybe even some sort of special magic that only he ca use) but honestly i was just let down cause the way spike’s backstory is set up it gave me hope that the reason he didn’t have wings was cause he was some special breed/type of dragon or something but the show now just gives him wings saying that it’s dragon molting/aging when we’ve been shown tons of dragons that look older than Spike(dragons such as Mina) have no wings at all, i was just disappointed that all of spike’s potential to be special was just kinda taken from him with a shitty excuse that seems invalid

it’s weird how the growth through greed was never adressed later  
except that one episode to put spike down a notch with zecora mentioning it  
but not once in any other dragon episode  
you’d think that there’ll be some explanation for why the other dragons grew up to become teenaged without going full growth like spike did the first time  
and why the old dragon lord became so huge while still seeming like pretty cool guy rather than an obsessive horder

While Spike may be MENTALLY adult-like, he is still PHYSICALLY a baby dragon. Take that as you will.

I just see Ember and Thorax as friends I prefer Spike x Ember. Though I guess Thorax x Ember would be a good backup ship.

Since these two are one of my OTPs, I was pretty upset during this scene. But the angst-lover in me was delighted. I know the two are still good friends after this. Ember is easily-angered, but once she calms down, she’s not that difficult. And Thorax is by default a very forgiving character. They’re relationship will be fine after this incident.

And in the thrilling climax, Thorax bends his Wookiee and is ahamed on Tumblr for not liking The Last Jedi.

Ember: … i really messed up big didn’t I?  
Spike: Yeah… Still you can fix this.
