That definitely didn’t go how Twilight thought it would.

That’s a situation you can’t really win; if they just go to jail, they’ll quickly corrupt other inmates into their way of thinking and the problem gets worse.

I mean, what if they’re like golden age pirates? Landless, distributed and not intimidated by what happens to other crews?
What if they’re like Al Qaeda, and provoking a heavy handed response fuels their long term strategy?
What if they’re just a warning sign of a potential crackup and an authoritarian response sparks a civil war?
What if they’re semi-official operatives of an equal or greater power, like the border reivers of the Anglo-Scot wars and they’re trying to provoke a war?
What if they’re irregular forces of a greater power, like the Roman Auxilia, and provoking a brutal response provides the cassus for an invasion?
No, just for enemies like ISIS or nazis or something of equal insanity where they cannot be reasoned with no matter what and only seek to kill and torture everyone they encounter. Since violence is all they could ever understand and all they inflict upon the innocent, teach them what TRUE violence is cue hell fire and the sound of tortured screams
I’m guessing this is a one-size-fits-all solution?
Whatever territory your hypothetical savage enemy has, find some of there soldiers, skin them up, dismember them, burn the bodies partially, then dump them back in there territory to show them you won’t take cold-bloodedness without fighting back even harder
What enemy territory?

“It’s time to grow up and get wise.
Come now, little one, open up your eyes!”
Raider was critically hit for 20 points.
Raider was killed.
RPing belongs in the RP threads, yo.
“You dare disrespect the princess?!” a powerful voice with a tinny distorted tone demanded.
“Yeah. You want some, bitch? Get in line-” KA-BLAM! The raider’s front leg explodes. “AAAAH! My leg! You bastard!”
“What are you doing?!” Twilight demands.
“Making an example of this animal. It’s the only language these scumbags understand.”
Ignoring the cries of Twilight asking him to stop, the Steel Ranger starts beating to pulp the screaming raider in front of the shocked eyes of the other prisoners, until the screams stop and his armored hooves are covered in a red paste.
“You- You killed him!”
“And I don’t feel sorry. You weren’t here, princess. You didn’t saw what they did. My unit arrived too late to help during the battle, but I swear that when we’ll track down the rest of their band we’ll make them pay and they won’t be as lucky as this one. I don’t care what made them take this path. Just because they had a tragic past, they don’t necessarily deserve our sympathy.”
he can be whatever you want in your own headcanon.
I’d consider pushing someone to it enough.
Just because be didn’t do the act with his bare hands doesn’t mean he isn’t responsible for manipulating it into happening, more then likely just because he thought it was funny.
it’s funny, as bad as discord ever was, I don’t recall him ever cursing anyone to burn for eternity just because they didn’t hate who he hated.
though admittedly that sock puppet dimension was pretty horrifying
And I unfortunately would rather see a creature like Discord burn for eternity and any who’d allow him to go unpunished can join him in my eyes.
A monster is a monster, a pretty coat of paint on the festering flesh doesn’t make it excusable.
Discord is charming and has a sense of humor. He’s playful and makes puns and values fun.
A bloodsoaked monster with excellent social skills and a handsome face will always be more beloved than an ugly, rude saint. If Mr. Jerkacorn were handsome and glib and talked like a gentleman, half the audience would make a case for him no matter what the body count turns out to be.
Then why is anyone content with Discord?
He’s literally tormented and driven people insane but people always seem to be willing to give him a pass.
Is it because he “technically” wasn’t the one that finished the job, cause I’ve found that to be a shallow and frankly disgusting distinction to make with such things.
An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.
Which is exactly why i support the death penalty for murderers; once you start murdering innocents for petty or no reasons, you’re beyond any kind of rehabilitation.
@Anon-a-Miss
That’s because the ratings wouldn’t allow it; Chrysalis’ army behaved like a G-rated version of a stereotypical rape-pillage-and-burn conquering army once they breached Canterlot’s defences.
And we know Tirek would have destroyed everything in his sight to stave off his boredom if his alternate future is any indication.

It’s just weird that this is a setting that is a lot like the show where friendship always triumphs
I don’t know how much you’ve been following the Royal Sketchbookverse, but it’s been considerably more serious in tone than the show right from the beginning; darker themes were already part of it, so this isn’t really all that surprising.
@Telyna
He a gud boi. Was about to get his diploma n shieeeet. He dindu nuffin.

Nonsense, Sombra wouldn’t hurt a fly!
Well you never know, maybe in this AU, Sombra, Chrysalis and Tirek did kill ponies.
No the show is crap because Twilight and Sunset aren’t married.XD
I have nothing against darker AU were things are different. It’s just weird that this is a setting that is a lot like the show where friendship always triumphs, villains don’t kill and bad guys always have a chance to reform and then you’re suddenly ad gang of murderers. Not even some kind of ancient evil, but a bunch of common ponies. The result is that said common ponies act far worse than ancient evils like Discords or tyrants like Sombra or Chrysalis. That ruins my suspense of disbelieve.
