Dia was born in a cold winter storm, and it seems to explain her personality. She’s hard to talk to because she tends to be intimidating though she’s far from it, but that doesn’t bother her much at all because she has quite a hard time being social with other ponies. But once she gets to know somepony she tends to be very close to them. Once she was old enough she moved away to the Crystal Empire, though she spends quite a bit of time out in the Frozen North. She loves cold weather. She comes home to Cloudsdale during the winter and leaves again after helping with Winter Wrap Up.
Her cutie mark is spectacular, to match her name. Dash gave her kids names they would have to live up to, and Dia is sure that she has. She found her cutie mark in the same way her mom did, by doing a spectacular flying trick! It works best during the winter, she gathers up the little frozen crystals in the air and gathers them around the sun creating a magnificent phenomenon . Though it’s something she doesn’t do too often.

Relationships:
She has a decent relationship with her parents, but she’s never been too close with them. She has a hard time communicating her feelings, and that’s part of the reason why. She’s doesn’t mind her little brother, Solar Glory, at all. Though when she’s in town and growing up she loved to pick on him and start fights, now that he’s older she doesn’t like to play around with him as much because he’s too strong for her, but she doesn’t want to admit it.

Velvet Dawn is her closest friend, though they only see each other for once a year for a short while, they’re always writing letters to each other. Dia loves to write letters and to receive them.

She’s in a long distance relationship with Sterling Saga because he’s never in one place for too long. They also send letters to each other by means of messenger hawk! They’re very close to each other and stay faithful to one another.
