Everfree never knew her birth parents, for reasons still unknown to this day she has no idea why she was left at the orphanage in Canterlot. The filly grew up painfully shy, unable to look anypony in the eye or even hold her own in a conversation without nearly plummeting into an anxiety attack.
One afternoon while looking over the Friendship Map, Applejack’s cutie mark lead her to Canterlot of all places–specifically the orphanage. With Amber and Bailey starting to enter middle school, Fluttershy and Big McIntosh agreed to look over their nieces while Applejack took the next train to Canterlot. She met so many wonderful foals there and played with them for what seemed like hours, but she was still puzzled on why her cutie mark brought her there. Then she noticed the small red-headed foal sitting in the corner looking like she was trying to phase into the wall. After talking with the matron, Applejack learned how the filly was practically unadoptable due to her awkwardness. Then it clicked in the mare’s head. As she was signing over adoption papers to take Everfree back to Sweet Apple Acres Applejack’s cutie mark started to flicker, reconfirming the mare’s suspicions.
Everfree practically had a stroke the first time she stepped onto Sweet Apple Acres, being bombarded with by her new family with hugs and cheek pinches and food-~~so much food. Her new sisters and cousins tried to get the shy filly to break out of her shell but to no avail. “Some flowers just take a lil’ while longer to bloom is all” Applejack explained to her disheartened daughters, niece, and nephew. If Everfree wasn’t in her room she was attached to Applejack at the hip and wouldn’t leave her side even if her life depended on it.

~~ Weeks after being adopted, Everfree was watching her Mama barrel race. The filly was enthralled by the sheer speed and endurance required as her older sisters chuckled. “Go on, why don’t you give it a try?” Bailey encouraged her as the filly gulped nervously before making her way onto the practice track. Applejack skidded to a halt next to her daughter and gave her a wink. “Go on now, you can do it”. Eve’s first lap around the track was anything but impressive but her family hooped and hollered like she’d broken the sound barrier. As Everfree kept doing laps, she was getting faster and more nimble. She was jumping around making a ruckus like a filly her age should and then suddenly after a bright flash her cutie mark appeared on her flank. The twins and Applejack ran onto the track and wrapped Everfree in a huge family hug as the filly erupted in a fit of giggles. Applejack says that Everfree found her cutie mark in record time for an Apple.
As she started getting older and racking up blue ribbons, the mare grew to be just as loud and stubborn as any Apple should be. Her flamboyant personality is a little stong for her family sometimes but they love her all the same. Currently Eve still lives at home with her mother working hard on putting the Apple name back in the spotlight in the rodeo world.
