Wow, the detail on the truck alone is impressive! The lineart, shading, and all the small details she includes is worth admiring. It’s clear that this artist puts a lot of love and skill into their art, certainly deserving of the prices their auctions are going for no question.
@SkeeterTL
The worth of someone’s art at auction is generally determined by the artist’s exposure, quality, demand, and how much others are willing to pay for it. Certain people not having the available funding is not a fault of the artist, so why show disdain towards someone who’s working to earn a living much like everyone else?
You claim your issue is with Ralek’s attitude and not money, however the first comment you make is about the bids rising to “obscene amounts”, then go on to say not everyone can afford these prices. Art is considered a luxury for a reason. I’m certain he wouldn’t feel the need to address this had you not essentially insulted the integrity of his and many other’s profession as an artist. Perhaps you should more carefully consider the things you say to others if you don’t want a negative reaction as a result.
This artist is worth every extra bit you can bid on. Such perfect combo of cute and sexy.
But yeah, furry artists have way wayyy more higher prices for their art, sometimes something even as simple as a sketch colored piece is probably overpriced for many people in the pone community.

seriously, if you’ve followed this artist, its normal for their commissions to jump like this. high quality and add alot of small details

Mlp artists criminally undercharged for years. So now that some are ‘daring’ to make a little closer to what they should make, people are calling it extravagant and silly. Also. It’s a luxury. Luxury items usually cost more. If you can’t afford it, it’s not a luxury for you.
It’s actually extremely easy to turn a low wage job to easy money.
Step 1: Roommates. They will help pay the bills and the food
Step 2: Get a hobby that actually pays you money like most people here do.
Step 3: Ride a bike or ride a public bus to get places locally. It saves about $400 a month. Oh and lookie! That’s about the price of most of this fandom’s Commissions. And that’s being generous.
Step 5: Find what else you can live without and still enjoy life.
Step 6: Dude, just enjoy it.
With roommates, you can tackle your bills, your food, and have fun money left over. Take my word for it; I moved out of my dad’s house with a minimum wage job, but I had a plan which is working smoothly for 8 months running.
@SkeeterTL
You seem to be missing the point of auctions - multiple people bid how much they think a particular item is worth (in this case, a YCH image), and whoever values it the highest gets it. At the time of writing, someone thinks that it’s worth $155. While you may feel that is too high, obviously a number of other people do not.
And Ralek is absolutely right - commissions in this fandom are fairly cheap. If you look at the overall furry fandom, commissions are a lot more expensive.
@SkeeterTL
You know your name is displayed at the top of your post right? And that you don’t need to type it as a signature at the bottom of every post too? Or are you just used to leaving a sig because you’re used to shit-talking and bitching about someone spending money how they want to while in anonymous mode and you forgot to turn it on this time?
@SkeeterTL
Oooh I see you’re talking from your perspective and not from industry pricing guidelines.
In that case yeah, your original comment was right. $140 is an obscene amount for someone like you who doesn’t make a lot. But you’re not the target audience so you don’t have to worry about that.
lmao gets called the fuck out by everyone with an IQ over 50 and pussies out, lurk harder faggot
Oooooo kill em!

Wow. Wow.
Boy, you better take a moment and think really hard on what you just said.

It´s partly because people know that it will jump to this anyway, so why waste time
Still, unless you’re eager to give the artist an extra buck, it’s not a smart idea to bid $140 when the previous bid was $36.
Not everyone has a job that allows for $140 free cash, bucko.
~STL
140 is not an obscene amount for this artist and art, 140 should be the starting price if anything lmao
