Oh yes, the gas burner! That’s an interesting bit of realism. I guess the Twinkling Balloon must be a Canterlot design that uses bottled unicorn magic to heat the air inside?
 
(Depressingly logical worldbuilding part of my brain: “… so how do wingless ponies steer those things?”
 
They do it by ascending and descending through complex, three-dimensional, recirculating patterns of air currents put in place by thousands of breeze-manipulating pegasi, of course! Pegasususes don’t need the sky to be a noodle soup of miniature jet streams going in all directions, but they set them going anyway just so their earthbound friends can fly up to visit them regularly~ ♥)

I love Cherry Berry so much, she doesn’t let a basic incapacity for her chosen career get in the way of following her dreams to the sky, she just gets herself a hot air balloon and heads right on up there anyway.
