The description says that her flag is aromantic.
A lot of these images tend to match the character’s coat/mane colors with the flag’s colors, not what they necessarily think the character’s orientation is. The asexual flag has white and purple in it, Rarity is also white and purple. No big deal really.
Also some asexuals can and do flirt with people and can even get romantic crushes. They just don’t have sexual attractions. Sex and romance, while they’re often linked together, can sometimes be separate things. A person can have sex with someone without loving them and a person can have deep romantic passion for someone without ever having sex with them.
It’s likely based on their coat colors. A lot of pride related pictures do that.

Technically no. But asexuality is considered as part of the LGBTQ spectrum since asexuals are a minority and some of them do face discrimination for not being attracted to any gender.
Technically, i would expect not.
