Finally someone who isn’t dense.
but the way they presented their counter-argument is kinda rude upfront,
so not surprised by the negative feedback.
Also, they did sorta setup an implication of divorce, with some of the earlier dialogue.
By the end though,
it seemed clearly more a matter of a kid struggling with where to ‘go’ in a bi-cultural heritage.
Otherwise, we’re dealing with an entire society of ‘divorced’ couples and split families.
Which makes little sense.
They are literally separated by the different places they live (sea or mountain),
but all the interactions between seaponies and hippogriffs in the 2nd half was positive and friendly.
Some even switched back and forth between forms freely.

It seems pretty sincere to me, you probably are projecting.
See, I’m jaded enough that those smiles and nods all look fake and forced to me. Even the short dialogue between the two of them seemed like just polite talk in front of a kid. There is probably a fair amount of projection coming from me wanting to see what is familiar to me though.
No, it was never outright said, but that doesn’t have to be the case for something to be a metaphor. A story can be about different things, without being about everything, to address Esteban’s point. Besides, whether they’re divorced or not, they’re not currently living together!
Yeah, definitely a look divorced parents would give each other. 🤭
But I DO see the metaphor where’s people are coming from when they correlate choosing a place between heritages and dealing with divorced parents as said child. Though it was never made clear.

What of Cockatoos?
I think it depends on the type of bird. Swans and corvids, for example, tend to become monogamous, loyal couples. There’s even been studies that show some crows often visit their parents after they’ve left the nest, like a grown up child might do.
If I remember right that’s true, but it’s an infrequent exception, and not the norm.

I don’t know.
@voodoo91
I thought that some birds stayed together for life???
this is the most acceptable theory in the whole thread
Then why can’t he just say it himself? And why was he having such a hard time making that clear?
I think that Esteban was using Dr Wolf’s video as a way of saying, “this is how I feel.”
You don’t talk to me if you can’t understand anything
I don’t understand what your argument is. As far as I can tell, you’re just bringing up the fact that somebody else agrees with you about the episode for no reason. Don’t talk down to people if you yourself are being unclear.
Because it’s about the message of this episode. Can you even sense the context?
Then why bring that fact up out of nowhere?
