The cold open to “Secret of My Excess” also had a scene reminiscent of “Sorcerer’s Apprentice.” Music was similar and everything.

I think I prefer the little references here and there as opposed to a complete emulation, but scenes of rampant chaos would be totally awesome.

Seeing Trixie levitating that broom makes me realize that it’d be awesome if there were an episode where Twilight used a little magic to clean the library and it led to a “Sorcerer’s Apprentice” level of chaos when the brooms proceeded to try and “clean up” all of Ponyville.
