Yeah, I agree actually. The initial comment isn't very good; seems almost forceful. If I sound like I'm siding with them, then I assure you I am not.
It doesn't change their personality, I never said that. What I did say was that it can change your life in small to big ways, (small being stuff like friends, and big being stuff like racial issues.) and those experiences can form personality. Not all the time; but there's a reason stereotypes exist, and that's because they can apply; even if what they apply to is the mass crowd, or a select few.
For clarification on my own viewpoint, hoping not to sound like a bigot; there is no difference to me personally. We're all skin and bone, and your colour doesn't change how I see you. I wish racial issues were a thing of the past, but unfortunately they still aren't in some situations.
