Obi Wan’s technically right because they managed to kill the rebel troops guarding the princess at the beginning of the movie.
Much like said below, they were given orders to let them escape. Plus a few minutes in the movie, they easily stunned the princess with one precise shot (Now if they WERE shit, they would’ve missed a dozen times before finally hitting her)
