just take slow breaths and let it happen. think about what your body is doing. is your heart racing, or going slow? if you’re crying, try to feel where your tears are going. what do your toes feel like? does your heart ache? does the ache stay there, or slowly flow out from it? emotions can’t last a long time, not even terrible ones, even if it seems like they do. if you can hold out for just 20 seconds and stay calm, you should feel that horribleness fading away. it’s going to be okay again.
